Eastern gamagrass (Tripsacum dactyloides) is a robust native grass from eastern North America. Known for sturdy growth, dramatic inflorescences, and excellent adaptability.

Appearance

Tripsacum dactyloides is a tall grass reaching 1.5 to 2 meters. Leaves broad, green, rigid texture. Grows in dense clumping structure. Flowers distinctive rod-like inflorescences end stems, July-August. Plumes first green-brown, later golden-brown. Structure rough and characteristic.
