Care guide

Plant in partial shade to full shade in humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil. Keep the soil consistently moist — the plant does not tolerate prolonged drought. Mulch in spring with leaf mould. The plant spreads slowly via runners and forms attractive mats.

Pruning tips

Remove spent flower stems after blooming. Cut away damaged winter foliage in early spring before new growth appears. Divide the plant every three to four years if growth declines.
