Carolina hemlock (Tsuga caroliniana) is refined persistent conifer from Appalachian southeastern North America. Member Pinaceae family known elegant growth, fine needle structure, shade adaptation.

Appearance

Tsuga caroliniana grows elegant pyramidal to conical silhouette. Needles very fine, deep green, only 0.6-1 cm long, very densely arranged. Flowers small discrete. Male flowers yellow strobiluses spring. Female flowers small, form small cones approximately 1.5-2 cm greenish-brown persisting.
